Daily Round-Up For April 9, 2013

Well howdy, hey there, ladies and gents! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only collection of all of the latest, greatest, most interesting, and most important news to bubble to the surface of the wonderful and exciting world of independent and popular music. Hump day is around the corner and the news just keeps on coming! Today is especially heavy with the premieres of some truly awesome new singles. So, without further ado, let us get right down to business.

To start off, any tough day can be made more bearable with some news from rap sensation Kid Cudi. Today, he gave his fans the gift of a fresh new track from his upcoming record Indicud. And even better, it comes in the form of the most anticipated track from the album’s tracklisting! “Solo Dolo Part 2” features a guest spot from the current rap king Kendrick Lamar, and he turns in an extremely solid performance that fits the song brilliantly. With every new track that drops from this new record, the world can breath a little easier that, at the very least, the new LP won’t be a disaster. If you would like to take a listen to this hot new track, you can follow the link back to 2dopeboyz. The album comes out in stores on April 23rd.

Everyone’s favorite electronic and trap stars TNGHT have premiered a new amazing track! Presumably from an upcoming new LP or EP, “Acrylics” features the same production nods, buzzing bass lines, and random samples that we have come to expect from these two producers. If you are a fan of any TNGHT songs, or of this genre in general, be sure to check this song out! To do that, you can follow the link back to 2dopeboyz. Apparently the rap boys are even getting interested in the trap music game!

Rap prodigy J. Cole dropped a couple of different bombs on the world of music today. First off, he put out this new track, which he is calling “Power Trip.” The tune features some sleek vocal stylings of R&B singer Miquel. Perhaps more importantly than the new song, though, is that J. Cole announced over Twitter that the release of his oft-delayed sophomore LP Born Sinner will be June 25th. Let’s hope that he sticks to that deadline! If you would like to read further in to either of those stories, you can simply follow the first link and the second link respectively. Both links take you back to the rap blog 2dopeboyz.

And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! And check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love?
