Daily Round-Up For July 24, 2013

Hello, dear readers! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s number one source for all of the most important music news of the day. I hope you find something that interests you, and maybe something that brightens your day!

Leave it to the punk band Wavves to do something normal in a crazy way. Today they released a new set of dates for an upcoming leg of their tour…but not before they jumped out of a plane. The video of their skydiving escapades, as well the full list of tour dates, can be found back at Consequence of Sound.

Remember Jimmy Eat World? The band who gave us The Middle may have fallen off a bit from the national attention in recent years, but this week they conquered something a bit more pop friendly: covering a Taylor Swift song. Their rocking version of Swift’s We Are Never Getting Back Together on Conan can be found at The Line of Best Fit.

While Jimmy Eat World was playing Conan, Kings of Leon paid a visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. You can see them play their new single Supersoaker by following the link back to Stereogum

Apparently Lady Gaga went and did something weird and envelope-pushing. That’s nothing new, right? But it has been a while since the pop princess did something in the public eye. So, if you would like to check out the apparently crazy trailer for Gaga’s new record ARTPOP, you can do so by heading back to The Line of Best Fit. ARTPOP is due November 11th.

Mac Miller is continuing on his tour in support of the new record Watching Movies With The Sound Off. But today he confirmed a slight extension of his trip, and it includes a little bit of time spent across the pond in the UK. The list of dates and areas can be found back at The Line of Best Fit. Mac also put out a new music video today, this time for his song I Am Who I Am (Killin’ Time), which features singer Niki Randa. You can check out the trippy new video back at the Needle Drop.

While Mac and Wavves are extending their respective tours, indie band Youth Lagoon regrettably has been forced to cut theirs short, due to the death of a close friend of the band. More information about this tragic news can be found at The Line of Best Fit.

And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here.
