Daily Round-Up For July 25, 2013
Hello sweet people! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one stop shop for all of the latest, greatest, and most important music news of the day. Hopefully you will find something in today’s edition that you find interesting, and maybe something will brighten your day! Let’s get to work.
It was only a matter of time before someone tried their hand at a remix from Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail…and today it has happened. Listen to K Theory take a spin on Jay Z’s latest song Heaven. Link with a free download is at Dancing Astronaut.
R&B singer Miguel recently surprised a few people by performing an acoustic version of his fan-favorite song How Many Drinks. Link to the video is back at 2dopeboyz.
Icona Pop gained at least a million fans when their summer anthem I Love It hit it big time this year. Today they have released a new song in the same vein. Maybe it’ll have the same appeal? You can listen to All Night back at We All Want Someone To Shout For.
Kanye West is already busy at work on his next project – this time, it’s a collaboration with Bret Easton Ellis, the writer of the book American Psycho. West has worked with Ellis recently, but this pairing is still extremely interesting. Full story can be found at The Line of Best Fit.
News has broken that Justin Timberlake has made the decision to expand his already extensive tour of the US. The updated, now very long list can be found at Consequence of Sound.
Sufjan Stevens isn’t normally the one to create a ruckus about anything, but he has taken to his Tumblr to vent a lot about one very specific and very random thing: the typography on the new Savages LP Silence Yourself. His rant can be found in full back at The Line of Best Fit.
Sub Focus, one of the leading lights in drum and bass music, has released a new song. The track, ostensibly off Sub Focus’s upcoming record Torus, features a guest spot from the musician Kele and can be found back at the Dancing Astronaut.
Garage-rockers FIDLAR also put out a new song today. Awkward is already being raved about and being called “a stoner anthem.” And to top it all off, it’s accompanied by some pretty funny album artwork. You can listen and see back at Consequence of Sound.
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love?
