Daily Round-Up For June 19, 2014
Hello pretty readers! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only assortment of all the latest, greatest, most interesting and most awesome music news of the day. Happy Thursday! The week is almost done. Let’s dive right in to the headlines!
The soundtrack for Zach Braff’s upcoming new movie Wish I Was Here was released today. You may remember how insanely well the soundtrack for Braff’s last film Garden State did. If this new collection of songs is anything close, it’ll definitely be worth checking out. You can find the full list of songs back at Stereogum.
Legendary rap group Outkast have announced their last show. The concert, appropriately called ATLast, has announced that it will feature opening slots from Kid Cudi, Childish Gambino, Raury, and a bunch of special guests. You can find all the information back at 2dopeboyz.
By now you’ve probably seen more than enough material from last week’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, but this last video was too cool not to feature. Ben Folds joined Elton John for part of his set during the festival, and video has made its way to the internet. Check it out for yourself back at Stereogum.
Speaking of guest appearances at shows, R&B singer Mary J. Blige joined up-and-coming superstar crooner Sam Smith for part of his show at The Apollo this week to duet with him on his hit Stay With Me. Video from that is available back at Stereogum.
Indie and R&B artist How To Dress Well has a new album coming out next week, but he’s made it available to stream in advance for all of us lucky fans. You can listen to the album, entitled What Is This Heart in full back at Stereogum.
The National played a show at Prospect Park in New York City this week, and luckily enough for us the good people over at The Line of Best Fit were there to document the whole thing with high quality pictures of the band’s set. If you have any interest in The National or even in beautiful, well-done photography, be sure to stop by and check out the pictures of the show back at The Line of Best Fit.
Producer Hardwell has announced a full set of North American tour dates for his I Am Hardwell tour. You can check out the full set of dates for yourself back at Dancing Astronaut.
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love?
