Hello beautiful people! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only collection of all the latest, greatest, and most awesome music news of the day. Whether you’re just finishing up your Spring Break or just getting it started, there’s a lot of music news out there! Let’s get right to business.
Hip-hop group De La Soul are reportedly beginning work on two new albums, as well as a new mixtape. According to their conversation with Billboard, the group are newly motivated and excited to work thanks to a recent outpouring of fan support. Check out the full story back at 2dopeboyz.
Jhene Aiko has released a new song, entitled My Afternoon Dream. You can check it out for yourself back at Consequence of Sound.
An upcoming tour with double headliners Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails surely sounded awesome enough, but when news broke today that hip-hop group Death Grips would be joining the tour, the music world just about lost their minds. This show promises to be one of the most sought-after tickets of the year, as the six-week tour hits spots all over the United States. Check out the full list of dates back at Stereogum.
Up-and-coming rapper Chief Keef has released a new music video, for his track Make It Count. You can watch the video and listen to the song back at 2dopeboyz.
This past weekend of course played host to the mega-popular South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, providing the very best in music, film, and entertainment during the week. News has been pouring out steadily all week. Most recently, rapper Tyler, The Creator was arrested for inciting a riot, Julian Casablancas performed five new tracks and his Daft Punk collaboration, and Jimmy Kimmel took his Jimmy Kimmel Live! show on the road to shoot on location from Austin.
