For reasons still unexplained, Rick Ross appeared on the late-night television program Chelsea Lately this week. And, luckily for us, there’s video of it online! Check it out for yourself back at 2dopeboyz.
Updates continue to roll in regarding the condition of electronic music producer Avicii. The latest report shows that the DJ is to have his gallbladder removed. Avicci will have to miss his anticipated set at the Ultra Music Festival, but is expected to make a recovery in time for his shows on his US True Tour. In the meantime, deadmau5 is expected to fill in at select shows. Check out the full story back at Dancing Astronaut.
Alternative rock band The Antlers have begun teasing new music, and even posted a new untitled song. This will be the band’s first public material since 2012. You can check out the song and the rest of their mysterious YouTube page, back at The Line of Best Fit.
Pop singer Katy B performed in the KOKO Theater in London this week, and our favorite UK-based blog The Line of Best Fit was luckily there to snap some beautiful photos. You can check those all out for yourself back at The Line of Best Fit.
Father John Misty, Local Natives, and Brandon Flowers from The Killers came together this week to play a tribute song for the great Johnny Cash, to celebrate the release of Cash’s 1980 lost album Out Among The Stars. You can watch that collection of musicians play the title track from that album back at Stereogum.
Seattle police have released 35 brand new photos from Kurt Cobain’s death scene. The haunting images include pictures of the room Cobain died in, along with a few pictures of his suicide note. All of this and more can be seen in the pictures back at Consequence of Sound.
Alternative rock band The National stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week to promote their latest album Trouble Will Find Me as well as their new documentary Mistaken For Strangers.
