Daily Round-Up For May 24, 2014

Hello pretty people! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s only destination for all of the latest, greatest, most interesting and most awesome music news of the day. We’ve made it through our first full week back on the grind and now the weekend is upon us! Let’s dive right in to the headlines.

Mac DeMarco has released a new music video for his song Passing Out Pieces. As per usual with Mac DeMarco’s videos, this one is a little bit hard to digest. Try it out anyway! You can check it out for yourself back at Stereogum.

Little Dragon stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to play their tunes Klapp Klapp and Killing Me, both cuts from their recently released album Nabuma Rubberband. You can find video of both of their performances back at Stereogum.

Hamilton Leithauser has a new album out on June 3rd, but the record has been made available to stream ahead of its release right now via NPR First Listen. You can listen to Black Hours for yourself back at Consequence of Sound.

New information has surfaced about Kanye West’s upcoming newest record. According to new reports, the album will feature 12 songs, soul samples and West’s trademark darkness. Check out the full story with all the details back at Consequence of Sound.

Jack White has been quoted in an interview where he describes his relationship with ex-wife and band mate Meg White. It seems that the Whites no longer communicate like they once did, but Jack seems to be at peace with it. You can read the whole story for yourself back at Consequence of Sound.

NPR’s World Café series got a double dose of good music and conversation this week as both Natalie Merchant and Roger Daltrey stopped by the NPR offices to have a little chat and play some tunes. You can hear both of these episodes back at NPR Music.

And finally, Death Cab For Cutie played a show at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York this week and luckily for all of us, the good folks at We All Want Someone To Shout For were there to document the whole thing. You can check out all of their extensive coverage of the event, including the show’s set list, a bunch of beautiful pictures, and a description of all the happenings during the show. Check it all out for yourself at We All Want Someone To Shout For.

And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here.
