Daily Round-Up For May 25, 2014
Hey beautiful readers! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s finest collection of all the latest and greatest pieces of music news of the day. Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday! Let’s get right to business.
British rock sensation The Arctic Monkeys performed this week at Finsbury Park in London, and luckily enough for us, the good people over at The Line of Best Fit were there to document the whole thing. There are mountains of high quality pictures from the concert just waiting for your viewing pleasure! Check them out at The Line of Best Fit.
The last words of late, great rapper Tupac Shakur have been released. A policeman connected with the situation confirmed the last words this week for the media. You can take a guess for yourself and check to see if you’re right. The full story is back at Rolling Stone.
Kanye West has finally released a new song, presumably off his upcoming new seventh full-length studio album, which is as of yet untitled. It seems though, that he is continuing strong with the same subject matter that he has been conquering as of late, including with last year’s release Yeezus. You can listen to God Level for yourself back at Consequence of Sound.
Dave Grohl has stated in an interview that he recently considered taking his band the Foo Fighters down a darker, more indie-sounding path, but decided against it. You can read for yourself his full statement, and discover why he decided against making his own Radiohead record, back at Consequence of Sound.
Indie music darlings Arcade Fire recently were criticized by musician Laura Jane Grace, a member of the band Against Me!, for their recent music video. This weekend the Arcade Fire have responded to the criticism. Be sure to head back to Consequence of Sound to check out the full story with all its details.
And finally, Conor Oberst played a show this week at The Space at Westbury, a music venue in Long Island, New York. And luckily for us, the good people over at We All Want Someone To Shout For were there to cover all the goodness for us. They have provided a write-up as well as many awesome pictures of Conor Oberst and his special guest act Dawes throughout their performance. You can check it all out for yourself back at We All Want Someone To Shout For.
