Daily Round-Up For October 19, 2013
Hey lovely people! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s super awesome assortment of all the latest, greatest, and most interesting music news of the day. There’s a lot of music going on this weekend! Let’s get right down to business, shall we?
For starters, if you’ve ever wanted to see Pusha T or Cults live in concert, then you’re in luck! NPR Music has put up the full, uncut video from both of their concerts. If you have a couple hours to spare, you have been given the best seats in the house to these shows! Check them both out at NPR.
Music on television had a couple of shining performances this week. MGMT paid a psychedelic visit to Later…with Jools Holland this week, and Sleigh Bells performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! You can see that video at Consequence of Sound and Stereogum, respectively.
There are some new music videos out on the market, from indie starlets Yeasayer and their song Glass of the Microscope, and from The Neighbourhood, and their song Afraid. You can check those crazy videos at Stereogum and Oh So Fresh Music.
As an added bonus, Yeasayer have also released a remix for the Charli XCX song SuperLove. It’s a busy week for those guys! If you’re interested you can check it out at The Line of Best Fit.
Lady Gaga, randomly as ever, has made it known that she is set to appear on the Thanksgiving Special for The Muppets. Even if you don’t normally watch programming of that nature, you have to admit that you’re excited to see whatever the Ms. Gaga comes up with. We’ll all be tuning in this November! Make sure to read the full story back at The Line of Best Fit.
Pop princess Katy Perry has made her new record Prism available to stream online for free. If you’d like to, you can check out the stream back at The Line of Best Fit.
Lastly, a couple of great shows went down in the London area, and the guys from The Line of Best Fit were lucky enough to be there and take some amazing pictures of the shows. CHVRCHES played a show at a room called Shephard’s Bush Empire. The pictures from that show can be found here. The always-solid Local Natives also played a show this week, this time at a venue called the Brixton Academy. Pictures from that show are here.
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love? Or do you have an opinion on any of the music featured in today’s Round-Up? I’m dying to hear from you! As always, you can contact me through my email, or through Twitter @RobinCopple1. If you would like, I can include your message in a future edition of the Round-Up!
