Daily Round-Up For October 21, 2013
Hello music fans! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only collection of all the latest and greatest music news of the day. Let’s get to business!
Well, Kanye West started his insane Yeezus tour this weekend. In addition to the 27 song set list there was a giant mountain, a jesus look-alike, and what we can only assume was a lot of crazy behavior. For a more detailed report you can head back to Consequence of Sound.
While Kanye’s tour is blasting off, Drake Would You Like A Tour? has encountered yet another setback. The Philadelphia stop for the rapper’s journey has been cancelled and so far, it seems no one for sure knows why. Check out the full story as it develops at Stereogum.
So…Lady Gaga and R. Kelly have collaborated on a song together. This was no doubt a greatly anticipated partnership, but reviews on the track have been mixed, and Consequence of Sound has gone as far as to call it “a bad idea.” You can read a full rundown of Do What U Want at their website.
Pusha T is still promoting his new record My Name Is My Name. This time around he stopped by a publication called The Source to discuss topics including the influence of Pharrell Williams, recording sessions with Kanye West, and you guessed it, Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Control. Check out the video back at 2dopeboyz.
Eminem is gearing up for a positively massive tour through Australia. The Detroit rapper is reportedly taking along J. Cole, Action Bronson, Chance The Rapper, and Kendrick Lamar as support acts. If you are lucky enough to be in a city near this show, you simply must see these men perform! Check out the full story at Consequence of Sound.
Dancing Astronaut has put out another issue of its series Sunday Morning Medicine, a playlist dedicated to picking some of the mellower and more relaxing electronic tunes of the week in an effort to soothe and chill out any listener after a long weekend of activity. Be sure to check out this weekend’s medicine by following the link back to Dancing Astronaut.
And just for a little fun on this Monday, I’ll leave you with a fresh remix. It’s a new take on what is now almost an old classic: Jordan Postrel has remixed Day N’ Nite by Kid Cudi. Check it out at Oh So Fresh Music.
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love?
