Daily Round-Up For October 4, 2013
Hey music fans! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one stop shop for all of the latest and most interesting music news of the day. Let’s get to business.
I know I continue to flood you guys with new music to listen to, and you probably couldn’t possibly listen to it all. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop! And there is a whole lot of free music to listen to today. The new one from Sleigh Bells, Bitter Rivals, can be streamed for free over at Consequence of Sound. The new LP from trip-hoppers Blue Sky Black Death can be streamed in full at 2dopeboyz. Moby’s new guest-heavy and jam-filled record Innocents can be found at The Dancing Astronaut. And the extremely anticipated new record from Pusha T, My Name Is My Name, has hit the internet as well. You can find the stream at Stereogum. Happy listening!
The amazing program Later…with Jools Holland continued this week, with James Blake, Franz Ferdinand, and Goldfrapp all performing on the same program. You can find video from their performances back at The Line of Best Fit. And as a bonus, you can watch CHVRCHES play last week’s show back at Consequence of Sound.
Dr. Dog stopped by NPR’s famous World Café series to promote their new record The B-Room. If you want to hear them perform and also speak a little bit about their new tunes, you can follow the link back to NPR Music.
Recently we showed you a clip of The National working behind-the-scenes at their guest spot on FOX’s show The Mindy Project. Now that the show has aired, you can see the finished product of their performance on the show! Be wary of a few spoilers within the article, but check it out back at Consequence of Sound.
Like many of us, you may be feeling all sorts of emotions over the end of AMC’s Breaking Bad. But, as a bit of a parting gift, and perhaps as a sign of things to come, Aaron Paul has just finished a collaboration with dance producers Tom Neville and Zen Freeman. One has to hear it to believe it. Oh, and there’s a video too! Check it all out at Consequence of Sound.
And finally, this week on Dancing With The Stars, Bill Nye dressed up as a robot and danced to Get Lucky by Daft Punk. Happy Friday!
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love? Or do you have an opinion on any of the music featured in today’s Round-Up? I’m dying to hear from you! As always, you can contact me through my email, or through Twitter @RobinCopple1.
