Daily Round-Up For October 6, 2013
Hello beautiful people! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only collection of all the best music news of the day. Happy Sunday! Let’s dive in.
Phantogram just put out a new EP, and now they’re hitting the late night television scene to promote it. They started with a visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where they performed their song Black Out Days. You can find the video at 2dopeboyz. Their upcoming sophomore full-length Voices is due out soon.
The newly reunited Neutral Milk Hotel have added more dates to their already-ambitious world tour, stretching out as far as May 2014. No matter where you reside in the world, odds are good that the band are playing somewhere at least relatively close to you. Check out the updated list back at Consequence of Sound.
The Crystal Method have made a triumphant return to releasing original music. Though their new fifth LP is due out in January of next year, the duo tided us over this week with a new tune called Emulator. Make sure to give it a listen back at the Dancing Astronaut. New Crystal Method music is closer than we think!
Apparently rappers Kendrick Lamar and Papoose have beef. After Kendrick seemed to attack Papoose on a leaked version of a new song called Cypher, Papoose took part in an interview where he had some very choice words for the platinum-selling artist. Among the heaviest material in his language was the statement “he’ll never be able to shine my shoes, lyrically.” So we’ll see where this pans out, and we’ll keep you updated! You can read the story so far at 2dopeboyz.
It seems like Skrillex has dropped from the public focus for some time, while he begins work on his next earth-shattering project. But in the meantime, he let loose with his first track in some time, a very nice remix of the track International by Chase & Status. Listeners will find some restraint in the screeching modulation Skrillex has become known for, but that doesn’t mean this song doesn’t pound. Hear it for yourself back at The Dancing Astronaut.
We’ve had album covers, streams, and even leaks. Pusha T’s My Name Is My Name is almost upon us. But while we wait for just a little bit longer, we can enjoy this new music video for the song Nosetalgia, featuring Kendrick Lamar. And check out the album when it hits stores! The video is back at We All Want Someone To Shout For.
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love?
