Daily Round-Up For September 4, 2013
Greetings music lovers! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only source for the best music news of the day. Let’s get started!
Noise-rock band Sleigh Bells have announced their new album Bitter Rivals, to be announced on October 8th. They also made the music video for the title track available to us fans! You can check out the full story and the video back at The Line of Best Fit.
The Music Ninja makes a good point. This week marks a falling back to earth for a lot of us. We’re experiencing both three-day-weekend withdrawals as well as a chilling realization that summer is officially over. So with that, the Music Ninja is doing a lovely thing and offering us an edition of their Indie Dojo playlist to help ease into the transition. Check it out and try to chill out back at The Music Ninja.
It seems the Electric Zoo Festival in New York can’t escape misfortune this weekend. After the heartbreaking news of two MDMA-related deaths earlier this weekend, this week the news broke that a 16-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted, and 31 people have been arrested. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved with these unfortunate stories. The full story is at Consequence of Sound.
The band Cults has released a new track from their upcoming record Static. The track is entitled High Road, and you can find it along with their super-awesome album cover, back at Consequence of Sound.
In anticipation of the impending album release, Holy Ghost has made their new record Dynamics available to stream over the internet. Be sure to check it out while you still can! The link is at The Line of Best Fit.
As we near closer and closer to the release of the new Arctic Monkeys record AM, the band is unveiling more and more previews into the music from the album. Today the track I Want It All was released to the public, and the anticipation has only increased. Be sure to check it out back at The Line of Best Fit.
Apparently it is now officially fall. While that sinks in, you might want to check out Pitchfork Music’s collection of all the most anticipated records, indie and otherwise that are going to come out this season. It looks like a pretty hefty release schedule! You can find the full list at Pitchfork Music.
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love?
