Geologist Salary

So, you’re looking for a profession in which you are both interested and can make a decent living. On top of that, you really like science, rocks, history, and research. Well, search no further. Geology is for you. A geologist salary more than provides a decent living. A geologist salary can be incredibly comfortable and lucrative. According to, the average salary for many geologists is $83,000 and some make more than that.

Beyond the nice average salary, many different jobs exist in the geological field. Some geologists study earth processes like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions while others study earth materials like oil, metals, and water. Still, some geologists work more on just research as opposed to in the field. One can find many options in becoming a geologist.

In those options are a variety of geologist salary. You may not be able to step right into an $83,000 job, but you can certainly find a job that has much room for growth and monetary benefit. Plus, you’d get to work with earth’s rocks, minerals, waters, weather, and so much more. Now’s the time to check this exciting and interesting field out. Do some research, take some classes, and maybe find your passion in geology. It is worth it on so many levels.
