International Weather Outlook: August 21, 2013

Weather Forecast for North America on August 21, 2013
Frontal boundary over the Central Plains will be the focus of another day of showers and thunderstorms, while return flow sets up over the Gulf Coast and southeast US, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region. The northeast US will enjoy partly cloudy skies and cooler weather, while cool weather and showers hits eastern Canada and into Greenland. Greenland will see temps in the 30’s, while eastern Canada will be in the 50’s and 60’s. Temps for the northeast US will rise to the 60’s and 70’s and the rest of the east coast into the Gulf Coast will see 70’s and 80’s, along with a few 90’s along the Gulf Coast. Another warm day in the west as well as temps rise into the 80’s and 90’s from the Rockies into the Plains. A cooler pocket of air will prevail over the higher elevations of the Cascades and the Rockies.
Weather Forecast for South America on August 21, 2013
Partly cloudy skies will prevail from Peru to Brazil and southward into northern Chile and Argentina, while another powerful storm system moves through the south bringing snow showers to southern Chile and southern Argentina. Temps will be in the 80’s over eastern Brazil cooling to the 70’s for Peru and into Northern Chile, while the 30’s hit southern Chile and southern Argentina.
Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on August 21, 2013
Partly cloudy skies will be found over England and northern Europe, while sunny skies dominate the weather from Spain to Italy. Also, look for sunny skies from Germany into the Middle East. From England to Norway temps will be in the 70’s, while Spain to Italy temps will rise into the 80’s and a few 90’s. Temps will be in the 80’s from Germany to France, as well. The Middle East will be in the 100-110 range again.
Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on August 21, 2013
Northern Africa will see partly cloudy skies, while central Africa will see mostly cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms especially around the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Southern Africa and Madagascar will be dry and breezy. The majority of Africa will be in the 80’s and 90’s, while South Africa will be in the 60’s.
Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on August 21, 2013
The southwest monsoon will increase over the area from India to Sri Lanka again, bringing with it moderate rainfall and the potential for more flooding. From Singapore to Thailand there will be afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Temps will be in the 80’s and 90’s over most of Southeast Asia from India to Malaysia and northward towards Thailand and back into Singapore.
Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on August 21, 2013
Partly cloudy skies will prevail from northeast Russia into northern Japan, while a frontal boundary will bring more showers and thunderstorms to Tokyo. Partly cloudy skies will be found from Seoul to Shanghai as well. The Hong Kong to Manila the region will see afternoon showers and thunderstorms. This will bring another day of flooding to the Manila region. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will also move over Guam. Northern Russia and Japan will be in the 60’s, while temps from Shanghai to Seoul and into Tokyo will be in the 80’s and 90’s. Temps will be in the 80’s for Hong Kong and Guam, warming to the lower 90’s for Manila.
Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for August 21, 2013
Low pressure and the associated frontal boundary will bring showers to southwest Australia and partly cloudy skies to Sydney and Auckland. Northwest Australia will be in the 60’s and 70’s, while central Australia will be in the 60’s. The 40’s and 50’s will dominate the southeast from Sydney and eastward into Auckland.
