International Weather Outlook: March 24, 2013
Weather Forecast for North America on March 24, 2013
Low pressure moving through the eastern Gulf Coast will bring showers to Florida and into the Carolina’s. No severe weather expected at this time. High pressure will build into the west, keeping the region dry and warm. An area of low pressure moving through western Canada will bring a few snow showers to the region. Low pressure to the southwest of Iceland will bring increasing winds/seas to the region. Temperatures are going to be cold through most of the western United States and all of Canada. Look for the cold air to push back into Texas and the Gulf Coast behind the strong cold front.
Weather Forecast for South America on March 24, 2013
High pressure over Brazil will bring nice weather to the region. This will extend southward towards Argentina. A few showers will spread through central South America. A storm system traveling through the southern tip of South America will bring a few showers to the region. The northeast tip of Brazil will see temps in the upper 80’s to lower 90’s. The majority of the country will see upper 70’s to lower 80’s. The Andes, and also the southern tip, will see temps in the 50’s and a few 40’s in the highest points.
Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on March 24, 2013
Low pressure will be moving towards England. This will bring showers and even snow to the region later in the day on Sunday. High pressure to the southeast of Spain will bring nice weather to places like Italy and France. An area of low pressure moving towards Moscow will bring snow showers to the capitol and will also extend southward into portions of Eastern Europe. High pressure will give way to another warm and dry day in the Middle East. Cold air will continue to dominate a good portion of Europe from England eastward into the Scandinavian region and into portions of Eastern Europe, as well. Temps will be mild for Italy.
Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on March 24, 2013
A weak area of low pressure over southwest Africa will bring a few showers to the area. High pressure riding into the southern part of Africa will bring nice weather to South Africa. This will also bring partly cloudy skies to Madagascar. Northern Africa will be dry with plenty of sunshine for tomorrow. High pressure will bring northeasterly winds to the Cape Verde Islands and this will keep the region dry as well. The majority of the country will see temps in the upper 80’s to lower 90’s; however, look for a few upper 70’s along the northwest part of the country.
Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on March 24, 2013
High pressure will dominate the weather from India into portions of Thailand and Vietnam; however, a few afternoon showers will be possible through Singapore and Malaysia. The entire region will see temps in the upper 80’s to lower 90’s except for the higher elevations north of India.
Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia on March 24, 2013
A strong low pressure area is moving away from northeast Russia and will still bring some wrap around snow showers to the region. High pressure over central China will bring partly cloudy skies to the region. There will be an upper level trough moving towards the Korea’s, which will be responsible for a few showers and snow in the area. Multiple areas of tropical lows will move towards Manila bringing a few showers and thunderstorms to the area. Cold air will plunge out of Russia into the Korea’s, and portions of Japan, where high temps will be in the 30’s. Places around Hong Kong will see high temps in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s.
Weather Forecast for the Islands of (Guam and New Zealand) and Australia for March 24, 2013:
Easterly trade winds will again bring moderate winds to Guam and a few afternoon showers to the area. Look for tropical moisture to invade the northern part of Australia with showers and isolated thunderstorms. High pressure over Western Australia will bring partly cloudy skies to the region. Look for a few showers over New Zealand. Guam will enjoy mid 70’s with the moderate easterly winds, while most of Australia will see temps in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s. The southeast portion, around Sydney, will see temps in the lower 70’s. The same will be true for most of New Zealand.
