Muscle Milk Pickett Racing Uses Nissan In 2014

The 2014 racing season is about to begin. Within the next few weeks, NASCAR, Formula 1, Grand Prix, along with many others, will hit the track and begin their testing for the 2014 racing season. Then in the coming months, the thunderous competition of drivers, as well as the cars they are in, will embark on a quest, competing for that glorious title of champion.

Manufacturers will also enter their vehicles in the various racing events to see which manufacturer has the edge for victory. Trying to prove that they are the superior, teams tweak, modify and pick drivers they feel will give them wins and ultimately the championship.

One series is the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship which debuts at Daytona January 25-26, 2014. Top Speed has confirmed that Nissan will be entering the competition in the 2014 season. Muscle Milk Racing designed the Oreca 03 machine, Nissan is supplying the engine and drivers: GT1 FIA World Champion Lucas Luhr, Klaus Graf and Alex Brundle will be piloting the new machines.

Nissan is returning to the sports car competition, trying to regain their success they had in the late eighties. They won four consecutive driver’s championships from 1988 to 1991, three manufacturer’s titles and 33 IMSA races.

The first test for the Oreca 03 and its team will be the “Roar before the Rolex 24” which is a test session before the famed Rolex 24 race at Daytona. The Muscle Milk Pickett Racing team will also compete at the 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans.

Muscle Milk Pickett Racing is no stranger to the racing world. They are entering the TUDOR series coming from back-to-back American Le Mans Series championship victories. The drivers Muscle Milk will be using are no slouches either. Lucas Luhr won a GT1 championship driving a Nissan GT-R in 2011.

The second driver for Muscle Milk is Alex Brundle. He comes from the Nissan P2 World Endurance Championship series. He finished second in the 2013 championship and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans driving in the LM P2 class. His father, Martin Brundle, won the American round-the-clock endurance classic in 1988.

Nissan launched NISMO Exchange last year that provides Nissan drivers the opportunity to compete in major Motorsports events around the world.

But they will not be without stiff competition though. Ford will have an entry in the series from Ford Riley Technologies. It will be powered by a 3.5-L V-6 EcoBoost racing engine that is rumored to have a top speed of 225 mph.

Another team entering the TUDOR series is using the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7-R. It is believed to be using the 5.5-L V-8 engine.

This racing season is on its way of being an exciting venture. Once the season begins, I hope to bring you interesting and thrilling reports from the racing community.
