Party Time? Excellent!

Party Time? Excellent!

What makes a party? Well, some beer, good tunes, snacks, and…the red solo cup, right? For years, that red cup has indicated that a party is underway. We can easily write our names on the cups and keep track without having to deal with broken glass. Plus, they recycle easily and are reusable. But are they classy? Well, nope.

Until now that is. Gizmodo recently reported about Red Cup Living, a company who took the red solo cup and expanded it to make products that incorporate the iconic design with a little bit of class and variety. Now, instead of seeing the red solo cup and assuming that crappy beer is the only drink offering (well, that or, what we call in Oklahoma, cowboy punch — everclear and Kool-Aid or Gatorade. Yeah, it’s not so good.), now we can attend parties with red cocktail cups, wine glasses, margarita cups, shot glasses, coffee mugs, and the traditional cup we think of when hearing the phrase red solo cup.

With variety comes a little bit more class. As Gizmodo explains, “…sure, you could say you’ve already gotten drunk off all different kinds of alcohol in the typical red solo cup but the ridiculousness of these cups are totally worth it.” Sure, most have drank a gin and tonic or even a cup of wine out of the traditional red solo cup, but that is so, well, boring.

Now, we can really have a party. Instead of the same ol’ cup, we can have fun with our party cups. And they are still pretty affordable at about $6 to $10 per a package. Party time just got a bit more fun. I mean, think of the beer pong you could play with a red solo margarita cup? Oh, you don’t know what beer pong is. Well, redOrbit can help you with that. Check out the topic page all about beer pong!

Naturally, I have to take a moment to talk about being a responsible drinker even with fun plastic red cups. Yes, I truly enjoy a cocktail, good beer, or wine, but I do not condone binge drinking or otherwise irresponsible drinking. Even with our fancy red wine glass cup, we still have to make sure to consider our health.

I know. I know. This is about the fun in drinking, but I write regularly about health, so I had to take the opportunity to remind us all that even with fun cups out of which to imbibe our favorite libation, we still have to be sure to take care of ourselves.

What is further fun about these cups is that we could also use them for regular, non-alcoholic drinks. Wouldn’t it be fun to drink that juice out of a red wine glass cup instead of just a boring juice glass? And think about drinking milk from the shot glass…maybe people would drink more milk that way.

Whether enjoying a beer, cocktail, or wine or just having a little fun with juice or milk, Red Cup Living has taken party time to a new height of fun. I can’t wait to check out these plastic fun cups for my next fun-day! It’s gonna be quite a party.
