Shooting With Timothy Olyphant
If you have been following my writing the last year or so, you know I am obsessed with Timothy Olyphant. That is especially true in his current role as US Deputy Marshall Raylan Givens on FX Network’s Justified.
So you can imagine my immense delight when I discovered this gem.
Mr. Olyphant has teamed up with Omaze and donated his time to raise money for the Lory Titelman and Ruth Hershey Fund at the Westland School. This fund will provide a 75 percent tuition scholarship for four students this coming year to the Westland School in Los Angeles. Westland is a private, progressive elementary school and the aim of this scholarship is to bring more diversity into the school while helping underserved children get a better start in life.
But what’s that got to do with Timothy Olyphant? Everything!
If you are the lucky winner, you will go to LA to shoot with Mr. Olyphant. Nope, not shoot an episode, SHOOT GUNS. You get to see if you have what it takes to outdraw the fastest gun on TV. After, you will visit the set and meet many other interesting people as well. But oh my.. shooting and Timothy all at once. I think I would faint from the pleasure.
Much like a Kickstarter campaign, the more times you enter, the more swag you get. Entries start at $10 each and get progressively less expensive the more you buy. For example, one entry for $10 will get you a digital “thank you” photo of Timothy. The rewards get better and better until you reach the 500 entry point. 500 entries will cost you $5 each ($2,500 total), and the first ten people to donate that much get a signed replica of Raylan’s hat from the show.
I have to tell you, the way he wears that hat is at least 1/4 of his total sexiness on the show. The gun is another 1/4, and 1/2 is just purely Mr. Olyphant himself.
Here’s the catch. I was late discovering this Timothy Olyphant wonder, so there’s just three days left to enter. The contest closes on April 11. So hurry, buy your tickets, support those children.. and dream about shooting with Timothy Olyphant.
