Showing Our Passion For Beer

Most humans love beer. For centuries, a mug of ale, lager, or stout has been what many have craved after a long day working, whether that was in the field, a royal court, as a waitperson, or a CEO and all in between. We love beer that is warm, cold, frosty, and even a little bit frozen. We love beer with food and desserts, and we even love beer mixed with cocktails (like a beer-garita) or juices (think a bloody beer). We love beer.

Recently, Buzzfeed identified 21 ways to demonstrate our passionate love for beer. Though all of them are interesting, let’s take a look those that could really inspire us to enjoy drinking beer and show our love for beer. These are in no particular order, other than as I got to them and they caught my attention.

1) Drink enough different kinds of craft beer that you can decorate your coffee table with the coolest labels.

People browse Pinterest all day looking for cool, unique ways to decorate their houses. Using the labels from craft beer fulfills the interest in cool and unique while also showing how passionate we are about our beer drinking. Plus, doesn’t it sound like a fun endeavor? If the labels do not evoke interest, think about collecting the beer caps and doing that instead. Sure, it will take a bit longer, but could be equally as cool.

2) Sleep in a historic beer barrel when you visit Germany.

What better way to enjoy a vacation in Germany than to sleep in a historic beer barrel? Think of the smell. And the way the barrel will look? Yeah, that is all I have to say about this.

3) Get a tap for your growlers.

More and more, growlers are becoming the way to get craft, microbrewed beer, so getting a tap for the growler will only make the flavor more enjoyable. Plus, being that cool person with a growler and her own tap sounds pretty exciting, too!

4) Throw a beer and cheese party using these pairing guidelines:

Pilsner > Havarti

Wheat Beer > Chevre

Pale Ale > Sharp Cheddar

IPA > Farmhouse Cheddar or Blue Cheese

Saison > Chevre

Belgian Trappist Ale > Washed-rind Cheeses

Brown Ale > Mild Cheddar or Sheep’s Milk Cheese

Bock > Aged Swiss

Stout > Blue Cheese or Aged Ghouda

Um, yes, please! Most have been to wine and cheese parties and totally enjoyed those, so it is only natural that we would also enjoy beer and cheese party. I mean, cheese goes with everything and so does beer. It is a match made in heaven.

5) Make a craft beer cake.

Instead of a sweet confection, why not a delicious and inviting stack of craft beers? Yes, I know, it sounds like too much bucking of tradition, but who says a cake has to be all sugar? Besides, beer has sugar, too!

There are 16 other ways to really let our love of beer shine listed in the Buzzfeed article. So, if you are looking for a way to make sure everyone around knows that you are a beer lover, be sure to read it. And as it says, remember to take it easy and enjoy cracking open a nice cold one on the upcoming hot summer afternoons.
