Sun Signs: Taurus
The third blog about the zodiac focused on the first sun sign, Aries. Now, let’s look at the second sign in the cycle, Taurus.
According to the blog by famed astrologist Linda Goodman, if you were born from April 21-May 21, then you are a Taurus. The visual symbol for the Taurus is the bull, and it is an appropriate one for the Taurus person because they are strong, firm, and, well, stubborn. As Goodman shows, “The bull seldom rushes forward to stomp on your toes. He simply wants to be left alone. Don’t disturb him and he’ll remain contented. Press him and he becomes obstinate. Shove too hard, tease too much, and be prepared for violent rage.”
As Astrology.com identifies the bull is a Fixed Quality, which basically means that they are focused and persistent, and, frankly, sometimes that leads to stubbornness. Where the Aries is good at starting a project, the Taurus helps to get the job done.
Though the Taurus owns the reputation of being stubborn, they actually tend to be the most practical and reliable members of the zodiac. This makes sense because if they are focused and committed, they are not likely to find distractions. This also comes because their element is Earth. They are grounded, for sure.
The Taurus is not likely to deny themselves much because they work hard and deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labors. They will stick to a project until it is complete, at which point the Taurus will reward themselves with fun, pretty goodies. Astrology.com helps explain this: “To onlookers, this may look like so much materialism and blessed excess, but Bulls really aren’t interested in living without beauty in their lives. Beauty to the Bull also comes in the way of a happy home life, one that includes a partner and a stable relationship.”
One blessed characteristic of the Taurus is that they are loyal and loving. They want the people in their lives to be happy. They are sensual and emotional, which contributes to their romantic tendencies and desires. They will share as much as they receive because they are romantics.
However, the Taurus is not all good. As one can imagine, the bull has a temper. Though, the Taurus temper might take a long time to explode, explode it does, most definitely. The Taurus is not one to sit back when anger overcomes them. They will not simply seethe silently. No, the Taurus acts upon their temper. My very best bestie is a Taurus, and though most of the time she is calm and grounded, when something angers her or she feels that she or someone she loves in being threatened, the world better watch out because the bull comes ready to charge. And her actions lead to results, both because of her temper and her stubbornness.
The temper obviously comes from the sensual nature of the Taurus. This sensuality manifests in emotions (positive and negative), material possessions, love, and creativity. Yes, the bull will likely be creative in some way. And their creativity will not just be an interest because the bull is determined. They will practice their creative arts, and likely, they will succeed in the endeavors, as they do in anything to which they put their stubborn minds. Sure, they may be stubborn, but the outcome is usually pretty impressive.
The Taurus may be stubborn. The Taurus may be feisty when pushed too far. The Taurus may indulge in the material. But the Taurus is also tenacious, loyal, and sensual. The Taurus finishes what they start, defends those they love, and makes things happen. The Taurus is also artistic and interested in beauty in all its guises. The good and the bad of the Taurus make them good friends, lovers, and co-workers.
