The Green Minute: Want To Attend An Earth Day Event?

For today’s Green Minute we are providing websites and tips on how to find an Earth Day event near you.

But before we get started, here is a 1970 video describing what happened on Earth Day, April 22nd now 43 years later.

If you are looking for an Earth Day event near your community, one of the best national websites to search is surprisingly the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA has developed a nice interactive map that provides event listings in each state.

The one national organization in 2013 that is holding events throughout the US is The Nature Conservancy. This year, TNC is holding “Picnic for Earth” events across the country from Chicago, Illinois to Birmingham, Alabama. Worldwide, TNC will be holding 179 picnics. Here is the website that describes the national event and where to find the Picnic event in your community.
