Vizio’s New Eye Candy

This year Vizio is going to break out the big boy toys. It’s CES time guys so why not break out the best you have to offer and let the media eat it up?

At the dawn of the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show, Vizio introduced an assortment of beautiful products that may make their way into your home in the near future. By the way, all of these products have touchscreen displays. Yep, your eyes are not deceiving you, everyday devices have now been upgraded with the power to be baptized in fingerprints; from laptops to desktops and even the tablets (well I guess the tablets are a given).

Oh yeah, the gadgets come packed with Windows 8. Yes sir, even the tablet has full access to Windows 8 and not just some knock-off mobile version of the popular operating system.

Since we are on the subject, let’s start with the baby brother of the bunch: the tablet.

This is Vizio’s second attempt at the tablet business and seems to be their best. An 11.6 inch screen with 1080p HD resolution isn’t a bad upgrade. You know what else isn’t bad? The Z60 1GHz dual core processor by AMD, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space isn’t bad, that’s what. All of this goodness is encased in a gorgeous, sleek silver case.

So what is all the power good for? Well, AMD says that the Z60 processor can run premier games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at medium settings. Alongside that, since this little device comes with a full version of Windows 8, it can run pretty much any application that a bulky desktop can.

Moving on, we have the Twerp mid-sisters of the batch: the laptops. I really like the direction that these hardware companies are taking with the new generation of laptops and Vizio is no exception. Sleeker, lighter and more powerful than its predecessors, these new laptops come in 14-inch and 15.6-inch screen sizes. In addition to the sexier eye candy, the notebooks will feature the previously mentioned touchscreen functionalities, which should work remarkably well for the new Windows OS.

And finally we have the big brother of the bunch. The one that partied hard all through college, crammed his way to a degree and has moved back in with the family while he searches for a job: the desktop. The desktop will come in two sizes: 24-inches and 27-inches (for all of you who have the big boy pockets). The all-in-one looks to carry the same sleek design as the rest in the family and both the desktops and laptops also contain AMD processors.

Hmmm, Vizio is getting a little cozy with AMD aren’t they?

Regardless, I’m hopeful for Vizio as they are the new kids on the block and everyone likes an underdog, right? These gadgets also carry that beautiful design and craftsmanship that the brand is known for and I am hoping that they can catch the attention of consumers looking for a new Windows-based device. The prices of these beauties are unknown as of now, but I’m sure we’ll have some more information pretty soon.
