Weekend Round-Up For February 9-10, 2013

Hello again! Long time no see! Welcome to the Weekend Round-Up, your collection of all the most important news that may have come to pass over the most recent weekend.

First off, in what is technically the most important news of the weekend, Consequence of Sound is featuring a complete list of all of the winners of the 2013 Grammys! Check out the full list, as well as each respective winner, by following the link.

Among the highlights from the night:

Dubstep superstar Skrillex took home his 4th, 5th and 6th Grammys.

Taylor Swift apparently may have dissed ex-boyfriend Harry Styles by singing in a British accent during part of her performance.

There were so many performances from the pop stars of the music world, including Fun, Frank Ocean, Wiz Khalifa, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5, Miranda Lambert, Sting, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, Elton John, and oh so many more. Be sure to scour YouTube and the rest of the web for video of these performances!

More news will be coming from the award show in the next few days!

DJs and electronic producer superstars Zeds Dead have taken it upon themselves to create a soundtrack for those unfortunate souls trapped in their homes due to snowstorms. The hour long “Snowstorm Mix” is sure to be an eclectic and enjoyable mix of all shades of electronic music. Make you check it out by following the link back to the Music Ninja.

Mat Zo, fresh off collaborations with Porter Robinson and other popular producers, has created a new track all by himself. Though it was debuted on BBC’s Radio 1, someone managed to get a rip of the radio broadcast, and has posted it to YouTube for your listening pleasure! In the most tantalizing news of the day, The Strokes have released a snippet of their new, soon-to-be-released track “All The Time.” If you would like to be tortured just a little bit more in your never-ending wait for the new Strokes record, you can check out the 30-second preview by following the back to We All Want Someone To Shout For. But be careful. The heart can only take so much.

James Blake has made quick work in producing a music video to accompany his latest release “Retrograde.” It seems as though James has adopted a new and improved work ethic for the New Year. You can watch the video and listen to the song by following the link back We All Want Someone To Shout For.
